Mackenzie’s Mission, inspiring medical research of the future
Building a brand visual identity.
In the 2018-2019 Budget, the then Treasurer Scott Morrison announced $500 million for the Australian Genomics Health Futures Mission, $20 million of that was for Mackenzie’s Mission, a pilot program of reproductive genetic carrier screening.
The ground-breaking pilot study of pre-conception trials will screen 10,000 Australian couples before they conceive or in early pregnancy. The program is named after Mackenzie, who died age 7 months of Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) type one, and her parents who campaigned for Federal funding in her name.
Blueboat designed and developed films, website and collateral with a unified visual identity, sensitively narrating potentially complex subject matter, whilst appropriately respecting the heart to which this project was born from. Blueboat are proud to have contributed to this ground-breaking pilot study and Mackenize’s Mission.
