School Rebrand.

Established over 120 years ago, St Columba’s College is a leading girl’s secondary school. College leadership identified the need to undertake a full rebrand of the College to rightly reflect the College’s position in educating young women of the 21st Century. A leading brand and communication agency was needed to collaborate with the College to identify how best to reflect their future strategy and position across identity, brand and tagline, whilst staying true to the spirit of the College’s faith, history and values.

Consulting with the College leadership team, Board, student representatives, families and alumnae, Blueboat shaped the emerging creative strategy ensuring all audience voices informed development. Blueboat design thinking delivered a complete rebrand of the College.

Launched in January 2019, the fresh visual identity blends a stylised capture of today’s St Columba’s girl and her ambitions for the future, with stunning images of the historic College buildings. A supporting tagline was introduced ‘faithful contemporary innovative since 1897’, conveying the College’s strategic intent and position. The past was acknowledged in the tagline lock up with a ‘red nic’ nod to past branding, complemented by an evolved, cleaner College crest.
