Canberra Grammar School
Master Brand and Website Development
After 86 years as Canberra’s most prestigious boys school, in 2015 Canberra Grammar School announced plans to become co-educational, in line with their commitment to educating globally minded and socially aware young people who are ready for the world.
The announcement was made with a new look and feel for the school, launched simultaneously on their new website and a suite of printed collateral.
Canberra Grammar’s brand and visual identity was not reflecting their progressive approach to education and vibrant school community.
In preparation for the school’s new co-ed offer, Blueboat worked with the leadership team to develop a new design and messaging for a family of brands: Canberra Grammar School, CGS Alumni and the CGS Foundation.
The school website was restructured and redesigned to communicate Canberra Grammar’s unique offer through video, photography and clear information design.
To ensure consistency for all school communications, we developed a Brand Value Proposition (BVP) that outlined key messages, as well as a brand style guide and document templates. The new brand was launched online and in a print publication announcing the school’s new co-ed offer.
The feedback from the school community has been overwhelmingly positive, with the new website and brand identity embraced as a bold representation of the school’s direction. We have enjoyed the collaborative, inspiring process and are continuing to work with CGS.
