Australian Computer Society
Brand update and publication design
The Australian Computer Society is the professional association for Australia’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector. The industry body recently made significant steps to address gender equality in the ICT sector, making key recommendations at the National Press Club in December 2015.
ACS briefed Blueboat to design their report, The Promise of Diversity – Gender Equality in the ICT Profession, to take to The National Press Club - Australia’s leading forum for discussion and debate and for major statements on public policy.
The project had two components:
- Evolving the ACS brand to better reflect the way they wanted to be perceived, with a clean, modern approach to typography and graphics and an emphasis on engaging photography.
- Creating infographics that guide a reader through the report, included an infographic overview of the Executive Summary, making it easier to find relevant information and skim the key findings.
With a short timeframe before the report was due to be launched, our ability to work quickly, provide a clear rationale for design decisions, accommodate last minute changes to the content and manage printing and delivery was key to the success of the project.
ACS received a lot of positive feedback on the report from their key audience and stakeholders. As busy people, the infographic summary was a refreshing approach that allowed them to find the information they needed quickly.
